Seems like every year my diamondback terrapin have some kind of skin issue. Reason being is because I don't disturb the turtles with water changes during the winter, resulting in not as pristine wayer quality; so I definitely have to upgrade filtration.

This year wasn't bad. One of the male terrapin got a skin fungus. This usually clears up within a few weeks of water changes etc.

However, after trying this product for just three days his skin was completely cleared of any kind of fungus.

This product works great. His skin is perfect now.

ed, did it affect anything in your pond? i've had turtles get injured during brumation, for those that don't know they can be aggressive during brumation.... i've ended up bringing them in to treat them, i really do not like bringing them in, especially if there is a lot of winter left, i've gotten the opinion indoors is not in their best interest...... if there was something like this that did not affect other turtles or fish i'd definitely find it useful.....

i've heard from people that keep diamond backs in fresh water that they are more prone to skin infections......

What is the product? Is it a medicine?

Do you house you DBTs in pure fresh, or is there any salt added?

Yeah. The salinity of brackish water seems to be alot more cleaner for them. With fresh, you have to consistently drain the pond weekly and ad fresh water. You also have to feed them in smaller amounts so they don't become morbidly obese.

This product works great. It doesn't affect any of the other turtles or fish.

I've experienced something similar. Rather than bring them in, I may take some of the pond water, or fresh water, and put them in a bin outside for a few days and just release them back into the pond.
