Lovely.Greetings, here we are roughly a week later, and Sully weighed in at 76 grams. Gaining weight and growing nicely. Nice hot day in Maryland today, so he took a stroll out in the forest grassland.View attachment 86190

Wow... wow.... wowww..... emmm.... yes.. definitely woww... should let Toro see what is called "growing"
Yes... yes... same diet, different growth. Toro where are you. Look at sully. Now find out what is wrong with yourself and start growing like sullyYes, our Sully is growing nicely. Hes quite a handful and is enjoying being outside 24/7 now that he's a growing two-year old! Dandelion, grasses, hibiscus flowers, grape leaves, mulberry leaves cactus pads and Mazuri. All keep him happy. He enjoyed his first corn on the cob the other day. Corn, cob and husks.
That is a grower. I believe i read @franz_see collecting it.I think they all have their own growth patterns. Nadine isn't growing as fast as some, but faster than others. Born May 15th, I got her a few weeks later at 42 grams. Now she is 62 grams.
Do males and females have different growth rates when hatchlings? I assume someone kept enough records to see.
One of the things that help new tort keeper is roaming around forum and knowing he/she is doing right. Than it just wait and see. Tortoise is a being not a thing, that's why they don't grow in same pace. But i like to read how people manage to have fast grower especially the one that is not growing and then suddenly boom boom and boom. Boost the excitement.I've documented our Sully's growth rate, but now at two years, we still don't know male or female. Personally, i think people in general handle their very young sulcata torts way too much and stress them out, don't feed enough, don't soak often or long enough, don't provide enough food, and don't have their temps or humidity at the recommended levels. Starting with a healthy young sully, the rest is in the provider's hands.
Today, for example, our sully had grass, lots of dandelion greens, weeds in general, pumpkin blossoms, hibiscus blooms, banana leaves, cactus, watermelon, hibiscus blooms, and mazuri. Oh, some prickly pear fruit as well. A nice long soak in warm water, a walk about the garden in full sunshine, and some head and shell rubs!
