I know I might sound stupid but I put some Timothy hay inside the hides for my tortoise to bury himself in witch he seems happy doing my question is what's the risk of it catching fire I mean it is warm in his vivarium

If it's inside the shelter, there's no chance it's going to touch the light and ignite. Only thing is, you want the tortoise to be in a semi-moist environment. You can't moisten the hay. I wouldn't use it. But it's safe until you get home.

I just looked back at your other posts. You have a Hermanns tortoise. The hay is probably an ok thing to put inside the shelters/hides for a Hermanns. It doesn't need to be moistened, but you can provide what little humidity the tortoise requires by slightly moistening the rest of the substrate.

I put Timothy hay in Oogways cool hide he loves burrowing in that stuff just dont moisten it will get moldy and dont worry about catching on fire as it is very unlikely unless put underneath direct super hot light. But im sure what ever u choose to do u is fine
