I switched to a terra cotta plant water bowl and all seemed fine day 1 and 2 but today all the water is gone and the substrate is soaked. It seems to have seeped through the saucer. I added more water but my question is, wont that get the substrate TOO wet?

About one in ten saucers is a seeper. Use that one for food and try a new one for water.

Yes. It can make things too wet if you keep doing it.

Buy one that is glazed inside. I have a deeper too but I use it mostly outside.
