I was just wondering if it is normal for my baby tort to be in his little spot for most of the day because I will pick him/her up and then my tort will walk around for awhile like 30 minutes or so then go back to the spot. He is eating about 5 leaves of spring mix or kale a day and about half a baby carrot

Sounds decently normal to me. My tort likes to hang out in the same spot most of the time, gets his soak, eats, walks a bit, goes back to the same spot. I would just say make sure your temps are high enough if you think he is being abnormally inactive.

I think he is just getting use to his new home, 4 days is not very long for him to get use to his new home. Just keep him warm and humid and give him a variety of food maybe even some earth worms that wiggle in front of his face. Red foods such as strawberries, hibiscus flowers. Just make sure he has water available and soak him to keep him hydrated. I think you are doing fine,,,, I think he just needs time to settle in
