Hey this may seem like a wierd question, but do torts have to have distilled or dechlor wated or will they be fine with tap water? Ps we have a community well and that's where the tap is from.

If the water is safe for you and you family to drink, it is safe for your tortoise too.

I've used both tap and well water for decades and had no issues with either.

Wow, I found this an interesting thread. Sheldon has been drinking
spring water for the 6 months we have had him. I have been spraying the inner perimeter of his enclosure with local tap water.
We have hard water, so of course his glass has hard water spots.
My rabbits drink tap water. Just the other day, Sheldon doubled his weight to 106 grams. I was thrilled, and realized that except for
baby bunnies that are dependent on their mother, I have never owned such a tiny creature. For now, he will stay with spring
water & when he is bigger, more sturdy, we will gradually switch.
