Hi, I’m new to the forum and tortoises. In October I adopted a 7 year old, male Russian Tortoise from a shelter. He’s a sweet, interactive guy. Recently, when I talk to him he comes to me, stares at me and repeatedly lifts his front leg to me. Coming to me is not unusual for him.He does climb his enclosure when he wants me to get him out, but this is different and he doesn’t really like his legs touched. I’m fascinated with how animals communicate to us and each other. Does anyone know what this leg lifting behavior is? Thank You
