Tortoise growth rate

What is the actual or avarage growth rate for the sulcata tortoise?

I assume you are asking this based on reading the other recent thread about this.

I don't think there really is an average. If there is, its pretty meaningless, as the extremes on either side are so far apart.

I am actually starting to track this with my baby tort. I made an excel spreadsheet and track the weight and length each week. Obviously it will take a while to get a good amount of data, but I think it will be cool tracking the growth. It will also give people a reference to how fast a sully might grow, although like Tom said all torts grow at a different rate depending on many factors.

I think an average Sulcata grows about two inches a year. But it does vary greatly.
