Hi guys! I haven’t been on in a while but I just wanted to ask a few questions about growth. I have a Hermanns tortoise who is around 3 - 3 and a 1/2 years old but they still fit in the palm of my hand.
I upgraded her enclosure and her food.
I have a heat lamp and a uvb lamp. I feed her plants that I grow myself with those tortoise balls (I know they aren’t great but she won’t eat the plants on their own) and have recently added this nutrition flower power in with it?
I just want to make sure that this is normal and if not what I can do to make sure they are ok.
Thanks.

Hello!
Growth rate can differ between tortoises. If they steadily gain weight and grow, environment is properly set up (humidity, temperature, lightning, diet etc.) then no need to worry.

I don’t know I feel like she hasn’t grown in the past year, I was told that they are supposed to be fully grown by 5 years old is that true?

Our Hermanns tortoise, Zola, is 24 years old, and is still growing a bit, and certainly was nowhere near fully grown at 5 years old. He weighs a little over a kilo .

I’m sure this means I don’t have anything to be worrying about but I’ll still make sure to keep an eye on them.
Thanks
