Tortoise has problems in its paw

Hey! I'd be glad if you could help me. This tortoise isn't mine but a friend of mine is worried that she is not walking lately, and today she discovered her tortoise has a white liquid and his scales are falling of one of her paws.

I think the poor little thing has no access to a vet.

I am not sure about his enclosure.

If you can get pictures of his enclosure and lamps you'll get good advice on correct living conditions.

I wonder if it's some sort of a burn. It looks like it.
At any rate. It might have gotten infected. Even though all I see from that photo is a few missing scales.
At the very least. I'd rinse it with something like iodine or peroxide and then use an antibiotic ointment and maybe keep him on some newspaper for a few weeks until it starts to heal. It looks painful and he's going to want to keep it clean.
Otherwise that's an excellent looking Redfoot.
Can you tell us anything else about how he/she is being kept?
Can he walk on it ok?
As you know. A veterinarian would be his best choice.

As soon as my friend responds me I'm gonna tell you how she's being kept. I honestly have no idea. As for the walk on it, no, I think he is not walking, just standing and eating.

I'm gonna advice her to put on some iodine and the antibiotic ointment, sounds like a good alternative at least by now. I know a veterinarian would be a great choice, but I have no idea how things are going on Venezuela right now

Especially since the tortoise can't walk on it.
That's very troubling.
A tort would have to be in extreme pain or have another unseen issue to not be walking around.

unfortunately this ‘friend’ never responded. I am worried about the tortoise’s health but I can’t keep in touch yet.
