Hey guys, sorry if this question has already been answered but i did a search and it seems nobody has the problem on this scale. I even registered just to ask.

My female tortoise, around 6 years old, just urinated ALOT of blood, i dont mean a few drops im talking at least 50ml. At first i was really alarmed but she seems to be fine and is acting normal.

What caused this and does she need to go to the vet?

She's a herman if it matters

Okay your sure it was blood? Could it have been an egg broken inside or as it was expelled? Has she been eating a lot of dandelions? (This can cause a pink tinge to the urine). Has she been checked for parasites? What kind of substrate are you using? Is she outside or inside?

Definately blood, She hasn't been eating any dandelions within the past month either. Same thing happened today with about half the amount of blood/red liquid.

Taking to vets later tonight

Glad to hear she is going a Vet. Did you happen to save the last she did to take with you? Might be helpful if you did.
