My dormant bermuda grass was treated by my turf maintenance company a month or so ago. It is greening up now, and I would like to make an enclosure in my yard for my baby leopard. Do I need to worry the treated grass? If so, what's a good solution?

Call them and ask what the re-entry time is. I have used pre-emergent weed killer on my pasture in the very early spring, then when the grass is growing, a couple months later, turned the horse out onto it.

Normally, a pre-emergent puts a poison coating on the soil and that coating burns the tender sprout that comes out of the seed. It doesn't have anything to do with the grass, and doesn't get taken up by the plants.

In my opinion, it would be ok to build a pen on the treated grass, but water it well for a couple weeks before placing the tortoise in there.
