Doesn't bother me one bit. Its silly to be mad about it. But that's my opinion. You know what they say....

In French, which is my first language, we don't have separate words for turtle/tortoise, they're turtles. We do, however, specify aquatic turtles or terrestrial turtles. I do refer to my Red Foot as a tortoise and my 3 toe as a turtle, but if I talk about "them", I say tortoises or turtles, whichever comes to mind first ;-) I'm not picky about which term to use as most people don't know the difference although I do explain if they're interested.

Doesn't bother me at all. Tortoises are, after all, turtles. I call my guys turtles, too, because it's shorter to say.
