Hey everyone,

I have a indoor terrarium/habitat for a juvenile red foot tortoise. I have a 6400v tube for uvb on top of the terrarium, I was wondering if that's too much? Also if a florescent tube is good or a light bulb or if it doesn't matter?

I can't tell you if the light you have is too much or anything, but i will say tube lighting is by far the best and safest. I have the 3 ft 6% arcadia set for my redfoot and she loves chilling under it in the mornings. A uv meter will tell you what your output is though

Are you located outside of the U.S?
Lighting elsewhere is different than it is here.
I can't envision what a 6400v tube light is.
Can you include photos?
Your strip UVB can be your primary lighting. Or you can use an LED light. Incandescent, whatever.
Let's just make sure that you are applying some UVB
