I have enjoyed a beautiful Red Slider for the last year named Scorpion. He is low maintenance ,not as expensive as the average pet and cost a lot less to feed than a four legged friend.
I went with a turtle in order to promote a little business as well as my needs in wanting an animal to take care of but one that was low maintenance as well.
I am now interested in purchasing a tortoise and now researching and looking for guidance before I make that final step. Any help ,comments or advice is appreciated!

Hello and welcome to Tortoise Forum to you and Scorpion.
Or do you actually have a scorpion called Red Eared Slider?
And he is a four-legged friend one supposes.
I love greek tortoises myself.
They are friendly, curious and comparatively easy to care for.
They don't get too big and eat your weeds.
Lovely.

About how big does a Greek one get?? I am looking at traveling in a motor home soon and it was the main reason for a low maintenance four-legged friend and I would not have to worry about the slow babies disappearing :)

Welcome! We are owned by a Sulcata named "Tuleo" who will be 2 in July. Pretty close to you, we live in Beaumont (or Boremont- as the kids like to say.)

Greeks will get to be 5" to 8" long, plastron length, though some females may get up to 10".
However, they still need a lot of space, as do all tortoises.
Minimum enclosure size would be 3' by 6' for a smaller one and 4' by 8' usually, so that's quite a space in a motor home, though you could maybe make an enclosure on different levels.
