Our 6 yr old female sulcata's urine is thick all most jelly like, actually resembles the consistency of the white of an egg. she weighs 5 pounds she had a slow start in her early years because of improper care. My earlier postings detailed this. Thanks to this site her care has been improved significantly and is enjoying a growth spurt the last 3 years or more. She has gained 3/4 of a pound in the last 3 months and 1.5 lbs since Dec. she has a 3.5 by 8 ft enclosure and temps and humidity kept at recommended levels. She dines recently on dandelion greens and since it has warmed up (vegas) she has been outdoors a lot grazing on the lawn and hibiscus plants. Her appetite seems unlimited. Also I grow grass from seed from carolina supply. Should we have concern about the urine? Bowl movements are normal and plentiful! Lol Thank you in advance for any comments. Art

The egg white stuff is called urate. If it's jelly-like that's fine. It's completely normal.

If it's gritty it shows that your tort is dehydrated and it's fixed by lots of soaks rehydrate your tortoise
