So, I recently changed my turtles substrate from reptibark (before I joined this forum, I'd never heard any differently in books, pet store, vet, etc to get better substrate) to topsoil/peat moss, added some spaghnum moss and a few leaves from outdoors and he loves it.
He is way more active than before.
My humidity is way up as well, due to the moss. (Is there a certain level to try and keep it at for boxies?)
I also got him to eat some greens which I'm happy about, he only tried a little so hopefully he eats more.
I am about to build him a bigger home (3x5 ish) with a ramp to go up to another level.
He's also climbing on top of his house, which I don't like, but I watched him do it a couple times and there is no risk of him tipping over when going off the other side.
Will post pics of the DIY/upgrade!
