Hi!
I posted back in June, when we got our tiny apparently 1 year old tortoise weighing only 26grams at about 5cm.
I’m pleased to report he / she is doing ok and is now weighing 44g and has grown quite a bit.
He / She enjoys all foods, has a bath every day and the closed chamber with the lighting as suggested on here seems to be working very well too (36 - 38C under lamp, 22-24C on cold side, humidity around 60-70% with warm side sometimes lower than that). 3 lights - LED ambience light strip, 75W basking floodlight bulb, UV light tube)
I‘m attaching a photo of the little one and pictures of the 140cm x 60cm housing. I think he looks ok shell wise, but any suggestions about tortoise or the enclosure welcome. The dried up grass will be replaced, though he does love to shelter underneath
One question - would you recommend brumation for a tortoise of this size? Obviously they’d do it in nature, but he / she is still a bit light in weight?
Have a good day all!
