Ok I got a bigger bin instead of putting 2 together. Here's some pictures.

I have a 60w CHE on the hide/dark side and a 15w daylight bulb on the cooler side.

water dish and cuttlebone

So there it is! Hope it looks good! One thing i'm wanting to do is get a couple plants for the hide side that can be used for shade. any suggestions? something with the leaves a bit high so he can't get to them?

Either break your hiding pot in half lengthwise, or bury half of it into the substrate, and try to get the water saucer a little lower into the substrate. I'd like to see the same picture only with the tortoise in there too. So far, what I see looks pretty nice.

he was in there actually just hiding in the pot! he doesn't seem to come out much yet. but yea ill lower the stuff down for him! any plant suggestions that could create a canopy effect around his hide area? something that can obviously withstand the low light and humility...don't know if there is such a thing for sale, I've read that Chinese evergreen can do ok in that environment. but i don't know! any suggestions would be cool!

I have a lot of pothos in my viv. for my Cherry Head, and my boxies. They don't need a lot of light and give lots of places for hiding too.

I tried to put plants in Ruby's enclosure, but she tried to eat all of them and I didn't want to take the chance with her. Dale doesn't seem to want to eat any plants. :D

he's not eating them so far, he just hides under them! which is what they're for, if he starts eating them ill probably take them out and find an alternative.

Don't forget Terracolson's idea of growing seeds in a container till you have sprouts, then burying the container down into the substrate so the tortoise can graze on the little plants and, while it lasts, it retains humidity as well. ;)
