I finished my hatchling’s new enclosure and I think he’s settling in 🥰 any thoughts or suggestions on how to improve? Is it enough space for him? He was hatched in mid-august so he’s about 5 months old.

I’ve seen people letting their tortoises out to roam the house but I’m afraid he will get hurt, he’s so tiny and I have dogs. It’s okay to not let him out right? Should I try to get a bigger enclosure now or is this a good size for him? The sterilite container I used for the last month just seemed way too small. It was about 3x1.5 ft and seemed overcrowded with just his bowls and hides. There was barely any room left for him to roam.

This looks a wonderful size for him! Plenty of space at his baby size🥰 and yes absolutely no free roaming indoors is fine! Free roaming the floors of our home isn’t safe or comfortable for them for a multitude of reasons, rest assured a safe appropriately sized enclosure for his age is what’s best for him❤️

I really love what you’ve done with his space! The hanging plants look lovely! One friendly suggestion would be making sure that gap around the covering is sealed better, you’ll be loosing a lot of humidity through it, a pool noodle around the edge might work?🐢💚
