Hi Everyone,

I'm prepping an enclosure for a leopard tortoise hatchling enclosure that is 6x2x3 (LxWxH). Based on what I've read so far, I should get a UVB light with the length of 36" at least? Also, I'm thinking of going with an Acadia 12% HO.

I appreciate the help here, just want to make sure I get this right the first time. Since I live in central Florida, the little one will be getting some real sun once I set up an appropriate outdoor enclosure (protected from any pred).

Thank you very much!

Hello and welcome. Arcadia HO tubes are the best. The 12% is perfect for a leopard. The length really doesn't matter. 22" is fine or 34". Just mount it near the basking flood lamp.

Check out these threads before you buy, and be sure your baby was started correctly. Almost no breeders start them correctly, and a large percentage of them die weeks or months after purchase because of what the breeder did, or didn't do. It's so sad. Don't let it happen to you.

I always like to make sure I have the animal's enclosure dialed in before they arrive. Thank you very much for all of the information, I certainly appreciate it!
