UVA or UVB?

I bought an UVA bulb for my Star tortoise because the UVB bulb is currently out of stock. So, will this affect anything?

Its a waste of money. They need UVB to form D3 and process calcium. UVA just makes things look nice and its a marketing ploy to get people to spend more money on a bulb they don't need.

Just use regular hardware store bulbs until your mercury vapor bulb is back in stock.
