Uvb Bulb Recommendation...

Whats up fam. I have a male star. His name is Socrates. I want a new uvb bulb for him. The one I bought from Amazon was just 7.99$ and I think its not a real uvb bulb. Can you guys post a link for the one you guys are using. Thanks[emoji846]

The compact UVB bulbs are around that price, but they're not recommended for tortoises as they can cause eye problems.

You need to look at fluorescent tube UVB... and they're around that price too

Mercury Vapour Bulbs (MVB) are much more expensive; at least double that price usually. They combine UVB with Basking heat in one bulb. However, MVBs stop giving out UVB long before the bulb actually fails ... and you can't tell when it happens without a UV meter, so they need to be replaced every 6 months which makes them very costly

I am in the UK so I won't recommend brands
