It's officially winter in San Diego. We are forecasted to have rain all week. Some of it severe.

Ralph is nestled in his dogloo with his heat lamp. Plastic strips line his doorway with a heavy towel on top of that. On top of that is a tarp to keep everything dry.

I know he won't come out all week (though I will probably take him out tomorrow to give him a good soak and see if he'll eat). He's been in since Saturday.

My question is, I don't have a UVB bulb in his dogloo. If I set one up, I need to move him to the garage, where it's pretty cold. Right now, the day temps are hovering about 50, so I'm not considering moving him. How critical is it for him to have UVB EVERY DAY? Can he skip this week?

Ralph is 5 yrs, 20 pounds, approximately 15 inches.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure there must be days at a time in Africa when the sun doesn't shine.

Thanks.

I would think that it's more about keeping him dry and warm, right? I don't really want to deal with a respiratory infection.

Just don't let him get too cold.
