I took my tortoise to vet to see if I can get him mirco chip I never bother getting it done because the vet said she will have to sedate him and I said no science then I took him back home and now he is not eating or doing nothing she did pull he's leg but I don't know what is wrong with him I have had him from a egg and he's never been like this

How long has he been acting like this? If less than a day I honestly wouldn’t worry just yet, sounds like he’s in a strop after travelling(they hate it!)🐢💚

I'm not sure he hasn't been moving around much I don't think she had a clue she said he was to big to hold down and she said she would like to sedite him so she can do it but that point I had enough of her pulling him around and took him home

Poor lad😣
Whenever he does take some steps I’d try and see if his walking seems off😕I’d keep up with his usual routine and offering some of his favourite foods, hopefully he’ll start perking up, I wonder if the vet has really stressed him out and it’s sent him out of sorts for a few days, either way I guess the best thing is to closely monitor him for now🐢💚

That's absurd. I've personally microchipped lots of tortoises and helped or observed other people with lots more. Not one of them needed sedation. That's just silly.

Tortoises don't like change and they don't like traveling. It's very stressfull. Sulcatas especially do not like cold. Did you keep your tortoise over 27C at all times? Was the car so hot that you were sweating the whole drive there and home? Was it over 27C in the vets office? Your tortoise probably caught a chill in your English cold clammy winter. Warm it up. Kick the heat up to no lower than 30C day and night and make sure there is a 37C area to warm up all day long.

It's my guess that your tortoise was stressed by the trip and probably got cold. Did they take your tortoise in the back to examine it, or were you present in the room the whole time and able to watch?

I’ve only just noticed you’re from the uk looking at Toms comment! His points are incredibly valid here, it’s so cold here at the moment! Definitely listen to everything he has to say🐢💚
