Waterfalls-good or bad idea?

I was thinking about getting spud a waterfall for when I build him a vivarium.

I thought it would look nice, and I wouldn't have to worry about there not being enough water when I'm out etc.

Has anyone got one?
Does it have to be a reptile one or can it be a garden ornament?

Unless its a very large vivarium it will be hard to keep it going because of splashing and evaporation.
I've tried several variations when I kept Dart frogs. They never turned out satisfactory.
I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

The idea is a very nice one, but like Ed, I wonder if it would work. (I don't mean to demoralize you, so please do not misunderstand me).

I think I might give it a go.
If it doesn't work, I'll save it for an outdoor enclosure

Yeah. I'm not saying that waterfalls are a bad idea. I like them. They are just very hard to pull off in a small vivarium.

I have a water fountain in my back yard, Tugie my tortoise loves to lay under the lounge chair right by water fountain to hear the soothing sounds. Actually, he's been sleeping under the lounge chair lately too!

My son wants to build one in the yard for Odin next summer and we have toyed with the idea of a water feature of some sort for his indoor greenhouse, so if you come up with anything I would love to see it. And, if I can find a workable small scale way to make my vision work I will make sure to share also!
