Good morning everyone. I am having problem with trying to find out if my daughter's Russian can eat this weed. Does anyone know the name of this weed?

You can also try to look it up on the tortoisetable.org. They have several ways to look up plants and weeds and they have pics to compare to.

Commonly called lambsquarters. OK to eat for people, in salads. Young leaves taste OK to me, the older leaves not so much so.

Thank you so much. I have a lot growing in my back yard. I will be collecting it for my daughter's baby to see if she likes it. She is a picky eater.

Try the young growing tips first, they are the softest, and least strong flavor, then maybe over time, a larger selection of the plant's leaves and stems.

I have had tortoises go nuts for it while others not so much, or at all.
