He's looking good.

Don't worry about the earlier discussion. You already make sure your tort has constant access to water. Your tort does need to drink obviously. Soaking does help with hydration even if you don't see them drink...

Absorption of water through the cloaca is thought by some to be a link to sea turtles which can't drink sea water, but need it for hydration. I'm no scientist, but those who are are working on understanding the efficiency and effect of this.

Thanks so much Joes mum (don't know your name) I've been so worried. I'm trying everything that's been suggested they both pooped in their soak today, that's a first, it still quite firm, but I thought its a start.

I'm going away this weekend & I'm so worried my mum won't know what to do. I've told her to use this forum, but don't think she will. I've written loads of notes so she follows the routine we already have.

Just a quick picture

Eating some breakfast! (dandelion, plantain, lambs lettuce & a small sprinkle of soaked food)

Very cute :) they look like they are enjoying it.

Another tip: if you make sure the leaves you feed are wet, your torts get a little extra fluid :)

I did spray it with water, for the same reason :)

Just a quick update...

Both my ladies have gained weight this week, after keeping warm & daily soaks, things seem to be improving. Will keep doing what I'm doing :)
