I don’t have an answer but I’m curious if he was like this when you got him or is this something that’s been developing?
That’s great news! I was so worried for the little guy. Thank you! It's just new growth. A tortoise's silhouette stays looking like he should, that means sometimes parts of the shell have to grow faster than others to keep the silhouette normal-looking.
Very cute!Hamilton is also growing right now! Here’s my tortie View attachment 279636
While soaking, you can take a soft toothbrush and brush the shell. It will help those stuck scutes.I'm kinda bummed because I was going to use this as a proud update on my females progress and growth in my own thread...but it is of more use putting a worry to rest I think. It is indeed normal growth.

What’s a bird finger?See I didn't know that, I figured it was normal and every one didn't have to have growth between it. I normally only brush her shell to remove feces and urine (yes don't ask me HOW, but she gets it on there) because she is less than receptive to it withdrawing repeatedly sounding like a pissed of snake as she exhales.
she is SO flipping heavy now it is insane. I can't even grab her by the sides of the shell with my thumb and bird finger anymore and I'm a grown man. She HAS to be egg laying size now.
You know. . . when you flip someone the bird? What’s a bird finger?
