I had a customer come into work today and showed me this turtle he pulled out of his pool this afternoon. It was super super teenie tiny (never saw a baby turtle so small). I was thinking possibly a pink bellied turtle - but I have no clue. He is coming back in tomorrow to see if I could figure out an answer for him...This little turtle was super active swimming and digging in the little aquarium he had for him.

I think it's a mud turtle of some kind. Not sure what species though.

I'll say Eastern mud turtle.

It's so hard to imagine something that small can even survive to adulthood.
Just looks like a tasty tidbit for something. Hard to put back I bet.

Wow, a baby turtle the size of a dime! Incredible. And I thought quarter-sized baby boxies and torties were small.
Anyway, yes, I agree: I think it's a mud turtle.

I stole a photo from a co-worker, from this I was thinking possibly three-striped mud turtle?
