The vendor at the farmers market didn’t have any kind of name for it and I didn’t look closely at it until I got home, where I recognized the familiar flower shape.
This vendor is pretty good at identifying tiny eggplants but all they could tell me about this is it’s high in magnesium. How they figured that out without knowing what it is beats me. Eggplants are high in magnesium but I don’t know if it’s the same for the leaves.
It wasn’t a great day for me at the market; I also came home with chili leaves without looking them up. Another nightshade.
I’m pretty food flexible but I draw the line at nightshades! At least I had the presence of mind to pick up a few things I am famliar with.
