What type of succulent?

Looks like it might be a type of echiveria (hen & chicks) and it is ok to plant in a tortoise enclosure.

Thanks Yvonne, I love the purple tips, but of course purchased it from a food store with zero name... Do you think it would be okay to plant in 3-6 months when fertilizers are diminished?

I know that most people encourage you to either rinse all the dirt off the roots before using in a habitat, or waiting a couple months, but I have never ascribed to that theory. I buy plants specifically for the purpose of using in the habitats, and I use them right away.

OK Thanks! I tried planting Christmas cactus in there, but she ate that up. She's leaving the spider plants alone though.
