Hi there everyone,

I am a new tortoise owner and I am already in love with my little guy! When I adopted him he had a small white dot on his shell, but I didn't think anything of it. Now it seems to be getting larger, or he is getter larger. It looks like a blemish, a dry spot or something. Could this be fungus? If so how do I treat it?

Thanks!

is it raised? or is it bedded? i dont have any medical training with torts, but just from my experience as a hobbyist, it seems to be an old chip or scar, if its raised i dont know what it is, but from the pic it just looks to be an old scar, maybe that piece of his shell got chipped in the past, theres other people here that will tell you exactly what that is, but if the tort is acting fine, eating fine, i wouldn't worry, it looks dry and old.

The only concerning thing is that it's growing.... It may not be a scar, I'm not really sure.

It's not raised. And it may not be growing, it might just be me worrying over him. He acts healthy and is active and eating. I though it looked like an old chip, but not sure. It's dry and not soft.

If I were you I'd measure the diameter of this hole and compare it when I think it has grown, this will make it easier to tell if it's really growing!
