When to move?

Hi, i've got a question.
At what age should i move my greek tortoise from an indoor to an outdoor enclousure?
Ive read some websites that say i should wait until he is 2 or 3 years old. Is this true? Also, heres some background info: right now, he's a couple months old and I live in San Diego.

As long as the enclosure is covered and it's warm enough tortoises can go outside not long after hatching.

all of my babies have been outside their whole lives. I have six (4 greek and 2 marginated) that hatched 7/07. they only come in when it rains. two of them are hibernating right now.

The only time i had mine indoors was when they were tiny, only reason was because it was so hard to find them, lol.

Once they got like 3inchs though they were outside a lot.
