Which bulb uv bulb??????

Had enough with crapy mvb bulbs. Which curly or straight flourescent bulb would do good for my sulcata torts ?????

I think that the curly bulbs eventually cause blindness (or so I was told) so I'd stay away from them. The MVB bulbs can be finicky, which brand were you using? I have an ExoTerra one that has been going since I first got Walter.

I'm still fairly new but everything I've read and heard suggests that the MVB are the best, the coils cause eye problems, and the tube ones don't give off enough UVB. I believe zoomed does refunds if you've been housing the bulb correctly. I'd suggest an ExoTerra one like mine, for next time, besides when it gets shaken it's a fairly well behaved light bulb.

Never coil bulbs. The straight line UVB are okay, however, they don't give out as much UVB. If you can get them outside in the sunshine, that would be best and save you the money on buying bulbs. Also, the least you disturb a MVB the better off you are, it can shorten their life span. I have two, and have not had any problems, they are zoomed, I think. Make sure you are using the correct fixture, that will blow them also.

Can you provide some support with this statement?

Sunlight is the way to go if you can, but if you are not wanting to go with a MVB bulb, the long tube florescent (10.0 UVB), with some calcium D3 supplementation here and there should do well for a sulcata. Some say the coil bulbs are good if used as directed, some say they are not. You might have to do some research on the coil bulbs, but personally I think your $ is best spent on the tube florescent bulb.
