I am having trouble telling the gender of my adult 4 box turtles. If I were to go by concave plastron, I would have 3 boys and 1 girl but if I am to go by tail, I have 3 girls and 1 boy. So confused!!! Thanks!

Its hard to tell with box turtles. Some males don't have a little spot of concavity on their plastron.

Male's have bigger, stouter back feet and legs. The cloaca is farther away from the body. They SOMETIMES have red eyes, but some females do too.

Sometimes the males have a very subtle different shape shell.
