which species of tortoise is this?

The Bolson tortoise does seem to be a bit flatter than the other Gopherus tortoises, but I can't tell if your picture makes the tortoise look a little distorted or if he's really flat. At any rate, the Bolson tortoise grows pretty big.

I'm still working on getting my mind around the subtle differences between the agassizii and the morafkai, the morafka being the one that ranges down in to Mexico.

Your picture is of a captive bred tortoise. Captive bred keep their "baby colors" a lot longer than wild tortoises.

it's actually a female her plastron is completely flat, she has a very wide shell and look just like in the pictures, i think its full grown its old owner told me she is 10 y/o and yes she's captive bread
