some of my desert tortoises

I took in the tortoise on the right about 3 years ago when a friend was moving out of state. She claimed the tortoise came from Mexico. I decided to keep it because I like the color and was thinking maybe it might be leucistic. I took in the one on the left 2 years ago as a rescue and decided to keep it for the same reason as the other one...the color.

Gopherus agassizii - Blondie - appx. 5 years old 2lbs.
Gopherus agassizii - Pinky - appx 3 yrs old 1lb.

Beautiful! How did you get them so shiny?

I splashed them with water so their colors would show through better. Otherwise (with no water) they're just a drab color.
