Moving with Desert Tortoise

I have seen conflicting information about moving states with a Desert Tortoise. What are the Arizona laws for gopherus agassizii? I have seen they are not classified as endangered or threatened species now, so are they still kept strictly to their home state? If so, is there any possible way to get a permit or something to move with one? I will not be moving with my tortoise if it is indeed completely illegal with no way around it, so no lectures please!

As far as I know, it is not legal to move a desert tortoise out of its home state. I know of no one that has been granted any sort of permit or permission for that.

I agree with Tom. Technically, desert tortoises belong to the state, not to the caregiver.
