Why does my tortoise head butt the wall of his vavarium

I recently got a hermans tortoise, he is 1 year old. He has a wooden vivarium in my bedroom, but he keeps going into the corners of it an trying to climb up and also head butting it. Why is this, is he bored?

No... He just knows there's a world outside and he wants to be in it.

How long is your tort and how big is his enclosure?

Is there plenty of landscaping... Plants, mounds, hideouts, things to climb on ... to keep him amused?

Does he get outside?
