Will sand pass through its system? I made a 2/3 coconut coir 1/3 play sand mixture for the little guy but he seems to want to eat a lot of it. I quickly pulled him out when he took a bite and put him in my original cypress mulch bin. I thought maybe he wouldn't do it again so i put him back and he took a couple more bites. Its like a baby :(

Also with these types of bedding i notice it gets stuck around its neck and in the legs. Does this kind of irritate them?

I mite try the aspen like some people on this forum do. I already bought a bag. Or should i just stick to cypress since he is used to it?

To answer your question: Sometimes. Sometimes it passes through and other times not. This is why most of us recommend NOT using sand, even as part of a mixture. And yes it does stick to them and yes it can cause eye irritation and infection. Some people use it and get away with it, but I just can't see a reason to take the risk.
