Winter question

My sulcata has a winter box with heater that performs well as far as keeping him warm. My question is this, in the winter do you feed your tortoise in his house so he stays warm or do you feed outside and have him eat outside? I live in Texas so mild temps but does get below freezing at least one weekend a winter.
I do not have a light or UV in his house.

I feed mine outside his house all year. He usually comes out every day no matter what the temps are. He has been doing this for over 10 years and returns to his house on his own to warm back up.
