They've never had any issues. I believe in part that's because their house is 80° at night and 90° during the daylight hours.

I use a heater to keep the entire shed to temp but I have also seen people use some type of heating pad called a pig blanket, then I also read not to use any type of heating pad cause it could burn them. Have you ever used something like this?

I don't use any overhead lights at all. The daylight comes in their doorway and the wakes them up. Using the heater, I have no need for a light to provide added heat.
I'm not a huge fan of plastron heat. They are designed to absorb heat from the sun overhead and the surrounding environment. If they are cold, and the floor is hot, they may not recognize that they need to move from a hot spot.

I notice that the oil filled heaters are used for heating in the outdoor housing. I have been using a ceramic heater in the Sudans shed cause that's what I had available at the time. I have been monitoring temps closely and everything has been fine. I have a big ceramic heater w a built in thermostat and fan and that's been doing just fine this far. My question is, do I need to switch that for one of the oil filled heaters like I see people using on here? Is that type better for a reason or something? I know my outside temps are going to get much colder then what we have right now but I have used that ceramic heater to heat the whole downstairs of an apartment and it done fine. I haven't really ever dealt w the oil type ones so I don't know really anything about them.
