So my female Texas Map has been driving me nuts the past two days digging like a pissed off badger all day. Well finally today and for the first time with this species, I have three eggs A little weird that she laid this late in the season, but i'm not complaining. I had to throw an incubator together really quick out of an ice chest....hopefully all goes well and 45-60days I'll have little guys. Female is CB but my male is WC so.... new bloodlines:p

Especially since I got this female only two months ago and she's never laid eggs before :p Now only time will tell

Awesome Texas maps are one of my favorites! Such an overlooked species for how cool they are

I totally agree, so many people look over them and give them little credit. Especially the males, seeing the size difference is just insane...and watching how gentle the females are to the males is really a site to see.

Yeah...they're not always that gentle to the males. Not even close.

See from what i've seen in the concho river, is really cohesive group of texas maps, i don't know if the different locales have different aggression traits, but from my group they seem pretty docile with one another. I try to make sure there is as little human interaction as possible, unless it's a hatchling.
