What temp did you incubate the eggs at? 50 days is not weird if it was a high temp, 86-88 degrees. They'll all be girls if that's the case, males can take 75 days.

Looking at the pics, they just look like Red Ear Sliders.

86F but they were in the ground for a while before I put them into the incubator, and not very deep. Right in the sunshine all day long in 100F degree days.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, just RES. But I'm still going to keep them for a while to be sure.

Here are a couple Actinemys marmorata hatchling shots for comparison.

Here are a couple trachemys scripta elegans hatchling shots for comparison (the RES is on the left in these).

The do not look like hybrids to me, but that first vertebral has unusual geometry. I am going to guess either the mother or the father has one of the other slider types' blood in it given the carapace color and the reduced red ear, but that is just a guess.

See? There's no yellow swirlies on my babies' carapaces. Oh well, time will tell.

Baoh: I love that hatchling in the middle. Is he one of yours?

The middle animal is not an RES. None of these are mine.

That is a cooter, by the way.
