Hello, my yearling Horsefield Timothy has started sleeping a lot, his temperature in his table is around 32-34 Celsius under his lamp and he has a cool area as well. He has a big table and we let him wonder around the living room daily but recently he’ll just stay in one place and then fall asleep. He eats well and he’s pooing and peeing normally.
Is it the time of year?
When we first got him he would walk around a lot.
I’m feeding him fresh greens 80% greens 20% fruit and I bath him every 3-4 days.
Can someone tell me whether Timothy is okay and whether this is normal

Thank you
Flo

Hi Flo, and welcome to the Forum!

Russian tortoises shouldn't be given fruit. He also shouldn't be allowed out of his enclosure to roam around on the floor. Fruit causes a parasite bloom and being on the floor is too cold and may be dangerous due to things he might eat. We had one member tell us that she didn't know her little baby sulcata had his head in behind the door jamb and she closed the door, killing him.

Check the temperature all over the whole enclosure. If it's not warm enough they just tend to stay in one place and not to eat.
