The hibernate thing is a sore subject around my house. We tried cutting back the heat then food for a week or more. Made our 3 toed a container to hibernate in and put her in the coldest area of the house, a closet with 2 exterior walls and no air/heat vents. Well she refuses to hibernate! In fact when I took her out she tore into food like she hadn't eaten in over a month. It was only 5 days, lol. If Zippy is still moving around and catching bugs I wouldn't bother with it. Also from Zippy being in a bad place before you got it, he/she might need to stay awake this winter to pack on some more weight. Good to hear things are looking up for Zippy! :)
