My tortoise, Bonnie, has a large divot or indentation on her shell in the center towards the back. She was a rescue and had it when she was a 5-pounder. It never changed as she grew and now at 85 lbs., it’s really obvious. Not sure how to post a pic.but have some good ones. Wonder if it’s an injury? Hasn’t seemed to have affected her growth although her scutes are really skewed now. Any theories?
Hi!
I was wondering what the minimum daily temperature my sulcata tortoises could withstand without getting sick. Now in the summer, the LOWEST temperature during the night can range from 15° (59° Fahrenheit) to 24° (75.2° Fahrenheit), and I let them sleep outside. They have been sleeping outside for 3 weeks now and I do not see any problem with them.
Is it good for them to sleep at these temperatures long term?

Hi everyone my fiance and I have had our tortoise for about 3-4 years now and last night we noticed a shift spot on the top of its shell. We're unsure if male or female what can we do to help the soft spot heal properly?
And it has a lot of options for Accessories which ones should I get I know I need led lights WHITE color and a heat panel but what about screens for ventilation?
Hello, would anyone in this forum know where I could donate a collage painting of a tortoise in the Sonoran Desert?
Thank you for any help you can give me.
I’d like to post the picture here, but can’t figure out how to do it.
they are closed so I haven’t been able to ask many questions yet. I dont know how old he is and i dont know how he was started, dry or wet conditions. I don’t know how they are keeping him now, either. I think I will get to go next week for an adoption appointment and I should be able to see their enclosure… they look like closed chambers from the photos I saw but they weren’t up close
