So I'm starting on my turtle table! It's approximately 7 feet by 3 feet. I'm excited for what this will become. If I'm successful, I will post instructions and dimensions.

I like the idea. Look forward to seeing it when it's ready.

Any pics of your tort?

And welcome to the forum.

I did a water proof tarp on the bottom and wood sealant (caulk) to seal the edges. WAIT for it to dry. lol

Here is the finished product! I ended up keeping it as an enclosure and not a table because it looked to overwhelming - this has more of a zen effect. Here is a pic of my tort getting his soak as well :)View attachment 217814 View attachment 217815 View attachment 217816

Thanks, well I put a Che lamp close to his hide at one end. It keeps the ambient air there about 70 at night and closer to 80 during the day. Then at the other end I have a heat/UVB light which I have placed so that directly below temp is 95. Closer to the walls it is decreased to about 83 degrees. I also have a T5 UVB 30" tube placed more in the middleish area to help out more. I also placed a fogging unit in the middle to help with humidity as it gets pretty dry here in the houses during the winter months. So far it's working really well and he seems to love it. I have been watering the plants and spraying the soil once during the day. I cover it all at night with some plastic and the humidity is staying between 55-70.

I do plan on keeping it an open top. The humidity averages 40-45%. The temp under the MVB bulb is 95-98 degrees and the other side is around 88 under that lamp. Ambient temps are approx 78-82 on average. It's funny because my office is now pretty warm so I try to keep the doors closed. If I keep the doors open to my office, the temps drop a few degrees. Nighttime temps go to about 69.
