Something is very wrong with that tortoise. Notice all the various patches of skin/scales on the legs that has fallen off.

Can you please describe in detail the enclosure and how it is kept. Temperatures, humdity, substrate, open or closed, etc.? Is it being kept with other tortoises?

Aw geez, Mark. I'm so unobservant. Sorry, Ttfjc, for my quick response before. I'm afraid Mark's right. Is it possible rats or mice have been chewing on this baby? and that he was dropped?

I've seen skin like that when they are housed on wet substrate all the time. Damp is good. Wet is too much.

When I've seen septicemia, its usually in the middle and somewhat symmetrical. I've not seen case of septicemia where is only one side and not centered.

So you think its just a bruise? When i put a bit of force it moves a little bit. And for substrate i use a blanket

Good catch Mark. I didn’t notice until I went back and studied the pic.

Looks to this non-expert like he has got injured, maybe a dog got to him, and has internal damage/bleeding.
